Exhibition dates: Friday, September 24 through Sunday, September 26
Opening hours: 11:30 -19:00

We are pleased to announce our upcoming exhibition UKIYO-E PROJECT presents: VESTIGES OF EDO AT BELL TOWER at TRUNK (HOTEL), a boutique hotel located in the heart of Shibuya, from September 24 through 26. It will be the first time to exhibit our most recent artworks, Vestiges of Edo at Bell Tower, that launched this summer in collaboration with the Japanese craft beer maker COEDO Brewery.

The works will be presented alongside the woodblocks that were used to print them, as well as sequence prints to offer a deeper insight into the craftsmanship that went into creating the works.

Ukiyo-e are woodblock prints, making it possible to create variations of an artwork with a single set of woodblocks and only a few colour adjustments, and since the Edo period, this technical characteristic has been used to convey the transition of time, such as from day to night or the changing seasons. Vestiges of Edo at Bell Tower depicts the summer sky at different times of day, whereas Vestiges of Edo in Tsukuda, a landscape series of Tsukuda produced last summer that will also be exhibited in the show, portrays the beauty of the nostalgic neighbourhood as seen during the four seasons.

All of the exhibited works will be available for purchase.
Please feel free to drop by and take a look if you are in the area!

We look forward to seeing you.
